PHOENIX – Three suspects have been arrested for the death of a Valley high school basketball star.

Phoenix Police say 25-year-old Cameron Braxton, 23-year-old Dewone Hurd and 19-year-old Khalid Nasr were taken into custody on Wednesday and all face first-degree murder charges for the death of 24-year-old Bilal Russell.

Russell was shot and killed at his home on January 14 during what police have determined was a home invasion or robbery.

Authorities say Russell was an innocent victim and he was not involved in any criminal activities.

Russell had just been accepted into law school was preparing to travel to the presidential inauguration when he was gunned down.
